Your Licensing Queries, Simplified

What services does Convenient Licensing offer?

Convenient Licensing specializes in managing and securing medical licenses for healthcare professionals, streamlining the application and renewal process.

Do you only work with RNs and NPs?

RNs and NPs are our primary focus, but we also offer customized licensing and renewal support for:

Physician Assistants (PAs)
Physicians (MD/DO)
Other healthcare professionals, depending on state and license type
If you’re a provider outside nursing, contact us and we’ll discuss a tailored plan based on your role, specialty, and licensing goals.

What is the process of using your services?

We’ve designed our process to be as clear and simple as possible. It happens in three main steps:

1. Intake Form & Application Preparation
You’ll start by filling out our secure intake form with your background, licenses, and goals. We use this to build a complete professional profile. From there, we:

Identify the requirements for your target state(s)
Prepare your licensing applications and supporting forms
Help obtain license verifications, transcripts, and any additional documents needed
2. Application Submission & Tracking
Once your application is prepared, we send it to you for review and approval before submission. After you approve:

We submit your application (where authorized) or provide you with clear submission instructions
We track the status of your application, verifications, and other moving parts
We communicate with boards and agencies as needed and keep you updated by email and through your portal
3. Application Decision & Ongoing Licensing Support
When your license is granted, you can choose to enroll in our Maintenance & Renewal Plan so we can:

Monitor renewal dates for your licenses, DEA, and controlled substance registrations
Track CE requirements and re-certifications
Assist with renewals and keep your credentials organized and active

What part of the process will I be responsible for?

We handle as much of the process as possible, but some steps must be completed by you. Typically, you are responsible for:

Reviewing and approving your applications before submission
Completing required fingerprinting and background checks
Getting documents notarized, when required
Completing any courses, tests, or trainings required by the board
Providing personal or legal documents (e.g., court records, explanations) if requested
We provide clear, step-by-step instructions for each task and help coordinate fingerprinting/background checks in all 50 states.

Are there any additional fees besides your service fee?

Yes. Our service fees cover our time, expertise, and administrative support. They are separate from fees charged by boards and other third parties, such as:

State board application and renewal fees
License verification and transcript fees
Credentialing or education verification costs
Background check and fingerprinting fees
DEA and controlled substance registration fees
CE or board re-certification fees
When necessary, we may pay some of these third-party fees on your behalf to avoid delays, then invoice you for reimbursement. Full details are in our Terms of Service.

Do you guarantee that my license will be approved?

No. All licensing, renewal, and disciplinary decisions are made solely by:

State boards of nursing and medicine
Regulatory agencies
National certifying bodies
We cannot guarantee approval or specific processing times.

What we do guarantee is that we will:

Prepare and organize your documents carefully
Submit applications correctly where we’re authorized
Communicate with boards and respond to requests
Keep you informed about what’s needed and what’s happening with your file

How do you protect the security and confidentiality of my information?

We take your privacy and security seriously. Convenient Licensing uses:

Secure, password-protected systems and portals
Industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards
Limited, role-based access to sensitive information
We only share your information with trusted third parties as needed to provide our services (such as state boards, payment processors, or verification services). We do not sell your personal information. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

Why should I choose Convenient Licensing instead of handling the paperwork myself?

Managing licensing can be time-consuming and confusing, especially across multiple states. Requirements change, each state is different, and small mistakes can cause big delays.

We help by:

Breaking the process into clear, manageable steps
Preparing or organizing your applications and supporting documents
Tracking deadlines, CE requirements, and renewals
Giving you a secure portal to see everything in one place
Our goal is to simplify your licensing journey so you can focus on patient care, not paperwork.

What happens to my information once the process is complete?

Your information remains securely stored in our system so that:

You don’t have to start from scratch for future state licenses or renewals
We can easily help you add new states or complete renewals using your existing profile
Your applications, CEUs, receipts, and license records stay organized in one place
When you’re ready to apply in another state or renew, a quick email, portal message, or call is usually all it takes to get started.

How long does the licensing process usually take?

Timeframes vary by state and by your background. In general, most boards take about 1 to 6 months from submission to decision.

Factors that can affect the timeline include:

States with a high volume of applicants
Non-compact states with more complex processes
Delays in responses from schools, past employers, or verification services
Malpractice history, disciplinary actions, or criminal records
Delays in sending requested documents or completing required steps
We can’t control how quickly boards process applications, but we work to keep your side of the process organized and moving forward.

What role will I play if I use your agency?

Our goal is to handle as much as we can for you, but your participation is still required for certain steps, such as:

Providing accurate information on the intake form
Uploading necessary documents (IDs, certifications, CEUs, etc.)
Completing fingerprints/background checks
Signing and notarizing forms when required
Providing court records or explanations if requested by a board
Reviewing and approving applications before submission
You’ll receive clear instructions for every step that requires your action.

How will we communicate, and how often will I get updates?

We primarily use:

Email
Your secure client portal
Text messages or phone calls for time-sensitive issues when appropriate
You’ll receive updates when:

Applications are submitted
Boards request additional information or documents
There is a status change or decision on your file
Important deadlines or renewal dates are approaching
You can also log into your portal anytime to check statuses, documents, and upcoming tasks.

Do you help with DEA and Controlled Substance Registrations (CSR)?

Yes. We offer dedicated assistance for:

New DEA registrations
DEA renewals and address or state updates
State-level Controlled Substance Registrations (CSR), in states where they are required
We help with application prep, tracking, and follow-ups so you stay compliant without having to manage the paperwork alone.

Can you help if I have malpractice, discipline, or criminal history?

In many cases, yes. We regularly assist providers with more complex backgrounds, including:

Past malpractice claims
Board investigations or discipline
Prior suspensions or revocations
Criminal charges or convictions
These situations usually require additional forms, explanations, and supporting documents and may take longer to process. We’ll help you understand what the board is likely to request and organize your responses, but the final decision is always up to the board or agency.
